Pilot Knowledge Test Subject Areas:

 

Aircraft Systems related to IFR, ATC procedures, IFR Regulations, Weather and Weather Services, IFR Navigation Systems and Charts, Cross Country Flight Planning, Single Pilot Cockpit Resource Management. Departure, Arrival and Approach procedures, IFR related abnormal and emergency procedures.

Prerequisites to Beginning Your Training:

 

  1. 47 hours cross country PIC time

  2. Current pilot certificate and medical

Learning The Tools of The Trade

 

     Here at TransBlue Aviation, we train you to become completely familiar with the Instrumentation of any airplane. During the Instrument rating program we will teach you how to best understand the equipment available without the need to depend on the technology to fly.

 

     The instrument rating is composed of a number of distinct phases, these include:

 

  1. Basic Attitude Instrument Flying

  2. Radio Navigation (including GPS)

  3. Holding Procedures and DME Arcs

  4. Approach Procedures

  5. Cross Country IFR Procedures

  6. Abnormal and Emergency Procedures training

Course Duration:

 

We offer a ten day intensive instrument rating course for those who are familiar with the G1000 and have already passed their instrument rating written test. If you are new to the G1000, we have an optional 1½-day bridging course to the instrument rating.
